Evaluations are typically done in a single day. Please have all your paperwork filled out beforehand. The evaluation will begin with an interview, and then proceed to a customized neuropsychological testing battery. The length of an evaluation varies significantly, depending on the circumstances. But an average evaluation takes about 5 hours. Reports will be sent to the doctor or referral source, as well as the patient. Every patient has the right to in-person feedback about the findings in the report. You can make a follow-up appointment for this purpose (no further charge), or sometimes a phone call will suffice. Sometimes patients feel that going over the report with their doctor is sufficient.
Referrals are usually from medical clinics, neurologists, primary care physicians, or other psychologists and therapists. But self-referred patients are welcome.
