Forensic Neuropsychology Services in Criminal Proceedings
Dr. Mallory and Dr. Kennemer are both certified forensic evaluators in Oregon. This certification is necessary to provide “Competency to Proceed” and “Guilty Except for Insanity” evaluations in Oregon courts. Drs. Mallory and Kennemer generally provide these evaluations in cases in which neuropsychological issues are present or neuropsychological evaluation/testing is necessary. They provide consultation and adjunct evaluation to attorneys and other certified forensic evaluators needing this expertise for a case.
Forensic neuropsychological evaluations and expert witness services are provided for a variety of other criminal issues. Please contact Dr. Mallory or Dr. Kennemer directly to discuss possible forensic neuropsychological evaluations or other expert services.
Forensic Neuropsychological Services in Civil Proceedings, including IMEs
Evaluations are provided for a number of civil proceedings, including disability, worker’s compensation, and many fitness questions (e.g., fitness for duty, fitness to manage finances, fitness to make medical decisions, testamentary capacity, personal care and independence, guardianship, etc.). We provide expertise or “education to the court” on neurological conditions, memory, and many other neurocognitive issues. Please contact Dr. Mallory or Dr. Kennemer directly to discuss a possible civil court evaluation. kennemer@wfneuro.com, mallory@wfneuro.com.
We also provide Independent Medical (Neuropsychological) Evaluations or IMEs. IMEs, are sought by parties in a proceeding or are sometimes appointed by a judge, often regarding disability or neuropsychological “damage” or impairment following an accident or illness. They can be utilized during social security proceedings, worker’s compensation proceedings, by private disability insurance companies, or during a civil case about injury and damages. Please contact the doctor directly to discuss a possible IME.
Typically, a letter of agreement will be produced by the doctor to confirm details for an IME or many other civil matters. You can view a sample letter of agreement here: [Mallory sample agreement].
